Mahasiswa S2 Ekonomi Syariah Berhasil Meraih 2nd Best Paper Pada the 6th ICONZ

Prestasi membanggakan kembali ditorehkan oleh mahasiswa Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Dua orang mahasiswa S2 Ekonomi Syariah Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta berhasil meraih 2nd Best Paper Awards pada the 6th Indonesian Conference of Zakat (ICONZ). ICONZ merupakan kegiatan konferensi tahunan yang diselenggarakan oleh Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS). Pada tahun 2022, ini kegiatan ICONZ yang sudah memasuki tahun keenam diselenggarakan di UIN Walisongo Semarang.

Adapun mahasiswa yang berhasil meraih 2nd Best Paper Awards ialah Nur Adibah dan Maylina Syarifah Rahmah. Judul makalah yang dipresentasikan ialah The Impact of Human Development Index and Information and Communication Technology Development Index on the Growth Rate of Digital Based Zakat. Kedua orang mahasiswa ini berada dibawah bimbingan Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D.

Wakil Dekan Bidang Kemahasiswaan, Alumni, dan Kerjasama FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nur Rianto Al Arif, M.Si menyampaikan selamat atas pencapaian yang berhasil diraih oleh kedua orang mahasiswa ini. Ucapan terima kasih juga dihaturkan kepada dosen pembimbing Muhammad Hasbi Zaenal, Ph.D yang telah mengalokasikan waktunya untuk membimbing mahasiswa-mahasiswa dari prodi S2 Ekonomi Syariah. Dr. Nofrianto, M.Ag selaku Ketua Program Studi S2 Ekonomi Syariah mengatakan bahwa pencapaian ini menunjukkan bahwa meskipun program studi S2 Ekonomi Syariah masih baru, namun kualitas mahasiswanya tidak diragukan lagi. Selain kedua orang mahasiswa ini, terdapat pula beberapa kelompok mahasiswa lain yang turut serta dalam the 6th ICONZ ini.

Monday, 28 November 2022 The Faculty of Economics and Business, especially the Sharia Banking study program, has held a Curriculum Review Workshop with the discussion and theme “Workshop Curriculum Review for Udergraduate Sharia Banking Program” by inviting presenters from the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance, namely Mr. Sudarmawan Samidi, Lc. , M.Mgt and moderated by Ms. Umiyati, S.E., M.Sc as a lecturer in the Islamic Banking Study Program.

This workshop was held online and offline in the meeting room of the Faculty of Economics and Business and in a zoom meeting, this workshop was attended by guests from UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, namely Dr. Nurnasrina, S.E., M.Sc. as Chair of the Islamic Banking Study Program and Dr. Jenita, S.E., M.M. as Secretary of the Islamic Banking Study Program.

This workshop discusses the Curriculum Review of the Undergraduate Islamic Banking Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah whose policies have been analyzed by the Directorate of Sharia Ecosystem Infrastructure, the Division of HR Development for Islamic Economics, the National Committee on Islamic Economics and Finance (KNEKS) with the aim of harmonizing students in their learning in lectures so as to produce graduates or alumni who are qualified, superior and competitive in the future, with this curriculum review it is hoped that students or graduates of Islamic banking will not only meet industry needs but can color the industry with experience and student thoughts that are relevant to the times.

Wednesday, November 23, 2022 The Islamic Economics Masters Study Program (MES) FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held an Islamic Economics and Finance Study Session 1. This activity was held in collaboration with FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the Association of Indonesian Islamic Economists (IAEI) Commissariat of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The implementation of this activity was carried out in a hybrid manner, which was moderated by Dr. Mohammad Lutfi, M.M as a lecturer at FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.

This activity was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Amylin, M.Sc., Ak. In his remarks, he appreciated the committee that had initiated the implementation of this Sharia Economic and Financial Study. It is hoped that activities like this can be carried out on an ongoing basis which will be filled in by several speakers from both internal and external FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Chairman of the IAEI Commissariat of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nur Rianto Al Arif, M.Si welcomed this activity as an effort to increase Islamic economic and financial literacy in Indonesia.

The presentation of the material this time was delivered by Dr. Atmo Prawiro, SH.I, M.E.Sy. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta who is also the BBSPJIKFK Sharia Expert at the Ministry of Industry. On this occasion, the resource person explained the critical point of the production process in the company in terms of whether a product is halal or haram. This activity ended with an interesting discussion between the resource person and the participants.

The EP Capital Team Wins 1st Place in the 2022 Equity Research Competition at UGM

Another achievement was made by FEB students at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The EP Capital team consisting of Bagja, Ruvio, and Syifa won 1st place in the Equity Research competition at Gadjah Mada University. Initially, at the time of the announcement, the EP Capital team was announced as the 2nd winner, but the results were later corrected due to an internal committee error. The final result after corrections, EP Capital Team managed to win 1st place in the 2022 equity research competition.

 

Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nur Rianto Al Arif, M.Si as Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Cooperation expressed his appreciation for the achievements made by these three students. This achievement proves that FEB students at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta have the same quality as students from other tertiary institutions. Hopefully this achievement can motivate other students to continue to excel. Thanks also go to the Sharia Investment Gallery Trustees, namely Aini Masruroh, M.M, and R.R. Tini Anggraeni, M.Si who has coached the members of the Sharia Investment Gallery.

Workshop on Islamic Economics Masters Study Program: Experiments as an Alternative Method in Collecting Islamic Economic Research Data

Thursday, 10 November 2022 the Master of Islamic Economics study program held a workshop to improve the research abilities of students and lecturers in the field of Islamic economics and finance. The material that will be given at the workshop this time is the Experimental Method. The resource person for this activity was Dr. Hariman Bone, M.Sc., Ak from Mulawarman University. This activity was moderated by Fitri Yani Jali, M.Sc (Secretary of the Islamic Economics Masters Study Program). This workshop activity collaborated with the DPP of the Indonesian Lecturers Association (ADI) and the DPW of the Association of Islamic Economics Experts (IAEI) DKI Jakarta.

This activity was opened with remarks by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nur Rianto Al Arif, M.Sc who is also the Secretary General of the DPP of the Indonesian Lecturers Association and Chair IV of the IAEI DKI Jakarta DPW. In his remarks, he said that there is still very limited research on Islamic economics and finance using experimental methods.

Dr. Hariman Bone, M.Sc., Ak explained systematically about this experimental method starting from how to collect data to processing it. In addition, several examples of topics that can be used as experimental research are also given. Therefore, today’s topic will be very useful in improving the quality of research in the study of Islamic economics and finance.

Collaboration Program Between FEB UIN Jakarta and IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF)

Located in the Meeting Room on the 2nd Floor, Campus 3 of FEB UIN Jakarta, a collaboration program was signed between FEB UIN Jakarta and the IIUM Institute Of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIIiBF). In addition to being attended by leaders within the scope of FEB UIN Jakarta and representatives from IIIBF, this activity was also attended by the academic community of FEB UIN Jakarta, both lecturers, students, and education staff. The collaboration program between the two universities is expected to provide maximum benefits for the academic community at the 2 related universities. The targets of this collaborative program include teaching, research, and social engagement activities. It started with a warm welcome from the Dean of FEB UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Amilin, M.Sc., Ak., CA., QIA., BKP., CRMP to the Dean of IIIBF, Prof. Dr. Rusni Hassan and the representatives who came, Prof. Dr. Amilin expressed his gratitude and hopes related to this cooperation program.

“We welcome and thank Prof. Dr. Rusni Hassan and his entourage from IIIBF. This program is a follow-up to the initiation of FEB UIN Jakarta in 2021, which was represented by Mrs. Rahmawati, one of the lecturers at FEB. We hope that this collaboration program can provide benefits in the scientific field, especially for teaching, research and other collaboration possibilities for FEB UIN Jakarta and IIIBF so as to support improving the quality of education on the FEB UIN Jakarta campus”.

In addition to the Dean of FEB UIN Jakarta, the Chairperson of IIIBF, Prof. Dr. Rusni Hassan also expressed his gratitude and made a presentation related to exploring cooperation, especially in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance. “We also thank FEB UIN Jakarta for the opportunity to be able to work together in improving science. Of course, this collaboration program can produce research in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance which provides many benefits in line with the development of science, so that this collaboration is able to encourage the role of Islamic Finance and Banking in economic development both at the regional and international levels in line with the SDG’s targets”.

The activity which ended at 13.00 WIB also resulted in several important points related to the collaboration program between FEB UIN Jakarta and IIIBF. These include the student exchange program and the joint supervisor program for postgraduate students. Starting the collaboration program between the 2 Universities, apart from the cooperation agreement program, a Public Lecture was also held in the Theater Room, 5th Floor, Campus 3, FEB UIN Jakarta, with resource persons from IIIBF, namely Prof. Dr. Salina Kassim, as well as resource persons from FEB UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Euis Amalia with the topic “Contemporary Issues in Islamic Banking and Finance Toward Sustainability Development”.
