State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta – Research & Publishing Center and Faculty of Economics & Business – in collaboration with the National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS), Universitas Indonesia, and the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economist (IAEI) Jakarta Chapter held an Online Research Workshop. The theme for this workshop is Strategy and Upgrade Skills to Publish Robust Research in Scopus Q1 International Journal. This workshop activity lasts for two days, namely 18 and 19 November 2020.

Director of Sharia Economic Ecosystem Infrastructure KNEKS Dr. Sutan Emir Hidayat said that this activity was a series of activities aimed at increasing the ability of researchers in the fields of Islamic economics and finance. The hope is that it will be able to increase the number of publications on Islamic economics and finance in reputable journals.

Then, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Zulkifli in his opening remarks welcomed this activity. This workshop activity that will be followed by a workshop in the next month is an effort to improve the research abilities of researchers. The material presented at this activity is good material to improve the research capabilities of researchers and activists in Islamic economics and finance.

The resource person for this activity was Prof. Dr. Mansor H. Ibrahim that is currently a Professor and Deputy President of Academic & Dean at International Center fro Education in Islamic Finance [INCEIF]). This activity was moderated by Dr. Laily Dwi Arsyanti (Chairman I IAEI Chapter Jakarta). The material presented by Prof. Dr. Mansor H. Ibrahim in this activity are: (a) Elements of quality empirical papers; (b) Structure of introduction – background, motivation, and contributions; (c) Literature –placing the research in its context; (d) Empirical design – data, methods, and robustness; (e) presentations and discussion of results.

Nearly 1000 participants, both those who followed through the zoom meeting room and live streaming via YouTube, attended this two-day activity. This shows the enthusiasm of Islamic economics and finance activists to improve their research capabilities.
