Academic Writing Workshop Series 6: Structuring Results and In-Depth Analysis Strategizing Interpretation
Faculty of Economics and Business UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta again held an Academic Writing Workshop. This workshop has entered its sixth series. The activity was held in collaboration with KNEKS, Universitas Indonesia, IPB University, and IAEI Jakarta Chapter. This activity was carried out on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 through zoom webinar. Dr. Dece Kurniadi as Deputy Director of Law from Directorate of Sharia Ecosystem Infrastructure of KNEKS said that the ultimate goal of this activity was to improve the quality of Indonesian publications in the field of Islamic economics and finance. The number of Islamic economics and finance research in Indonesia has experienced a significant increase. Prof. Mansor H. Ibrahim is a mentor in this workshop series. Prof. Mansor H. Ibrahim is currently a professor and Deputy President Academic & Dean at the International Center for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF). In series 6, Prof. Mansor H Ibrahim explains how to interpret empirical results, especially those using econometric models. The key points in result interpretation can called by SMCR. S is assessing whether the model parameters are statistically significant and noting the sign of the relations between the variables (direct or inverse). M is attaching meaning or interpretation to the estimated values of the coefficients and assessing the economic importance. C is comparing the results with those of similar studies in the past. R is providing reasons or explanation for the observed relations between the variables (such as theories).
