Islamic Economics Study Program Student Wins Best Essay at the 2023 Istanbul Youth Summit
Another achievement was made by students of the Islamic economics study program at the Istanbul Youth Summit in Turkey on 6-9 February 2023. Ibnu Dzakir Rb Dahyar won the Best Essay in this activity. This international conference activity was organized by the Youth Break Boundaries and Istanbul Youth Summit organizations.   This conference discusses how to support the sustainability development goals (SDGs) program initiated by the United Nations (UN) with the theme taken this year being Quality Education, Good Health and Well-beings, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and Decent Work and Economic Growth. Participants who took part in nearly 15 different countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Hungary and many more, with a total of around 300 participants. The participants gathered at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Merkezi Culture Hall, which is located in Bayrampasa, Istanbul. On the first day, February 6, a gathering was held regarding the ongoing activities, an introductory session for young people from all over the world who brought ideas from their respective countries. The following day was a session of speakers such as Prof. Mehmet Asutay from Durham University, Prof. Hlymun Izhar from IsDB Group, Prof. Khaled Khalifa from UNHCR and Andi Laudisio from Dialogue Institute. events, divided based on the theme of the SDGs. After that, it was a night of appreciation for all the elected delegates and a closing ceremony. The awards given were Best Group, Best Essay, Best Presenter Men and Women, Best Active Group and Best Project. Prof. Dr. Amilin, SE, Ak., M.Si as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business congratulated Ibnu for winning the Best Paper at the Istanbul Youth Summit. Besides that, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nur Rianto Al Arif, M.Si also expressed his appreciation for this achievement and hopefully this achievement can motivate other students to continue to excel. In addition, thanks also go to the Chair and Secretary of the Islamic Economics study program who have fostered and motivated students to continue to excel.
