Career Preparation Seminar for Students
Tuesday, February 15, 2022, the Education Laboratory Institution of FEB UIN Jakarta in collaboration with Bank Hijra which is part of the Alami Group held a career seminar with the theme "Exploring career opportunities in fintech and banking industry". In particular, this seminar discussed how to compose an ideal CV and tips for dealing with job interviews. The seminar was divided into two sessions with two different speakers. The first resource person for this activity was Mrs. Kimzana Sari, M.Sc who is a Senior Recruitment Engineer at Alami Group and has more than 10 years of experience in the world of national and international recruitment. The second resource person is Mrs. Dr. Yuke Rahmawati, lecturer in the Sharia Banking study program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
In the first session, Mrs. Kimzana Sari submitted a review of the CV that was not feasible and was likely to be rejected in the first stage of the recruitment process. Then, the resource persons also conveyed things that should be avoided in compiling a CV, such as making a CV in tabular form, adding information that is not relevant to work competence, as well as the use of photos and layouts that should be avoided. In addition, the resource persons also conveyed important points of information that must be included in the CV as well as an attractive layout.
Speaker said that in practice, the HR department of large companies conducted CV selection for the first time with the help of software, so it should be noted that the CV sent must contain keywords related to the intended field of work. At the end of his presentation, the resource person also gave a few tips to be confident in facing the job interview session. Assessment of attitude, concentration, body language and vocabulary selection in communication are points in the interview assessment. In addition, the ability to describe how personal characteristics match the intended job position is also one of the interviewer's assessments. The first resource person closed with the story of some experiences from the recruitment process that had been undertaken.
The second speaker, Mrs. DR. Yuke Rahmawati at the beginning of her presentation also discussed tips on how to compose a CV and conveyed how recruiters assess the feasibility of a person's CV. Next, he discussed how to deal with job interviews in the world of sharia banking based on his experience as a member of the sharia board who was also involved in employee recruitment. He also said that in a job interview, several things that were assessed were leadership skills, core competencies including integrity and commitment, as well as the technical skills needed for the intended job.
An interesting and interactive question and answer session. The three participants who asked the best questions received door prizes from ALAMI Group in the form of a sharia peer to peer investment balance which is the current flagship product of ALAMI Group. This seminar was attended by final year students and Fresh Graduates of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. The successful implementation of this activity is the result of collaboration between the Education Laboratory Institutions of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Bank Hijra from the ALAMI Group and the Student Council of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta who have provided excellent technical support for the event.
