Master of Islamic Banking held a Study Acceleration Strategy Activity
Ciputat (25/04/2021) - Masters Program in Islamic Banking Faculty of Economics and Business UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta batch of 2021 has held a Strategic Activity for the Acceleration of Masters in Islamic Banking Studies. This activity took place via the Zoom Online platform for free from 13.00 - 16.00 and was opened with remarks by the Dean of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Amilin, S.E., Ak.. Then continued with the second speech delivered by the Deputy Dean of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Titi Dewi Warninda, M.Si.
This activity aims to ensure that Islamic Banking Masters students can complete their studies on time. The study period for MPS students is a maximum of 4 years (8 semesters), if more than 4 years, they will be dropped out (DO). Students are also required to publish their research results in accredited journals and conferences. The study program also received suggestions to continue to contribute to its students. Although student achievements are personal, there are still benefits to the organization and the MPS Study Program. Both formal and informal achievements. It is also hoped that all MPS students will support each other in completing the study period.
This activity was brought by a resource person as well as the Head of the Islamic Banking Masters Study Program, Nur Hidayah, MA., Ph.D which contained material on MPS accreditation which will end in 2022, therefore the Study Program is seeking re-accreditation in the hope that MPS will get a superior predicate. In accreditation research, there are student criteria where the student's criteria for accreditation research are the completion of the study period for the master is the completion of the thesis. The curriculum that is valid until the class of 2021 is the old curriculum and the thesis process is only seminars and thesis exams. However, it is required for students to submit articles before the exam to assist in the accreditation assessment. If the publication of the article is rejected, the student is expected to submit it to another journal. And the implementation of the new curriculum will start next semester.
Not only that, the presenters provide tips for completing studies on time. As the title of the thesis needs to be considered since the beginning of the lecture, as well as the preparation of scientific articles, the preparation of the thesis begins in the first semester. the guidance process can be done informally, with discussions with the lecturers concerned, so that at the end of the third semester you can submit a proposal seminar and in the fourth semester you can have a final thesis trial. Then added by Muhammad Hafizh, M.E. with tips on taking time instead of waiting for free time, don't delay assignments and work/revisions, make a time schedule, participate in activities that support thesis completion such as writing techniques, research methods and analytical methods, reference management, find journals that are in accordance with science and check time deadlines publish and collaborate with the research team.
At the end of the activity, this event was carried out with a discussion and question and answer process from students to question things that were still confusing about the completion period of the end of the study period. The participants were very enthusiastic in this activity because they got a lot of information, advice and tips given to speed up their study period.
