CSI FEB Writing Workshop: The Urgency of Scientific Writing for the Young Generation
On Sunday, November 14, 2021, one of the LSOs at the Faculty of Economics & Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, namely the Community of Syiar Islam (CSI FEB), has held a Writing Workshop. This event was held through an online zoom meeting, starting at 10.00 WIB, which was attended by around 57 students, both internally at UIN Jakarta and external (general).
This event started with an opening by the MC as well as the moderator of the event, namely Ravi Rachmat Hidayat, a 3rd semester FEB student majoring in Islamic Economics by praising Allah SWT. and Rasulullah SAW, followed by reading the discussion rules. After that, it was continued with the recitation of the holy verses of the Koran by M. Allen Hidayat, a third semester FEB student majoring in Sharia Banking.
After that, the opening remarks were given by Ainun Padilah Siregar as the Chief Executive of the Scientific Workshop and Rio Arkan Syafiq as the Chair of CSI FEB, then entered the group photo session led by the event operator. Furthermore, by reading the speaker's CV by the MC and entering the core of the event, namely the delivery of material with the theme "The Urgency of Scientific Writing for the Young Generation" by Anis Rohmatiah, a student of UIN Jakarta majoring in management in semester 11, he gave material by presenting a special power point for the material. The content of his material relates to the reasons the younger generation must master the skills of writing scientific papers as well as the job opportunities obtained by the younger generation who have the skills to write scientific papers after completing their studies. In writing scientific papers, the younger generation must avoid plagiarism. Plagiarism is an act of quoting someone's sentence or idea without including good and correct credit. The younger generation can avoid plagiarism in writing scientific papers by not making scientific papers exactly the same as those that existed before. There are several ways that the younger generation must master in avoiding plagiarism, including paraphrasing, quoting, and writing footnotes.
After the delivery of the material was completed, it was followed by a question and answer session and discussion, where there were three students who asked about the material that had been delivered and all of them were answered by the presenters. The next event was the handing over of certificates to Anis Rohmatiah, the presenter of the Writing Workshop this time. After the question and answer session was finished, then the event closed with a prayer led by Idzar Elna Albarizq, a 3rd semester FEB student majoring in Development Economics and continued with a closing greeting by the MC of the event, namely Ravi Rachmat Hidayat.
