Company Visit by Accounting Students to the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI)
Jakarta, September 29, 2025. Accounting students held a company visit to the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) headquarters, located at Graha Akuntan, Jl. Sindanglaya No. 1, Menteng, Central Jakarta. This activity was initiated by the Accounting Student Association (HMPS). Fifty accounting students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, State Islamic University (UIN Jakarta) attended the company visit. The visit aimed to introduce the Indonesian Institute of Accountants as a professional organization for Indonesian accountants to first-semester students in the accounting program at UIN Jakarta. The accounting students were accompanied by the Head of the Accounting Study Program, Dr. Fitri Damayanti, M.Si.; the Secretary of the Accounting Study Program, Hepi Prayudiawan, SE., MM., Ak., CA.; and Accounting Study Program lecturer, Haryatih, SE., M.Si.
The company visit participants were received by Mr. Yakub, Director of Standards and Profession of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI), along with IAI staff. Mr. Yakub explained the crucial role of accountants in driving the nation's economy. Accounting students, as the next generation of Indonesian accountants, play a central role in ensuring the continued role of accountants in Indonesia's development. Mr. Yakub also explained the history of the founding of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI) from 1957 to the present day.
On this occasion, Mr. Yakub, as the head of the Indonesian Institute of Accountants (IAI), received a commemorative company visit gift from UIN Jakarta Accounting students, presented by the Head of the Accounting Study Program, Dr. Fitri Damayanti, M.Si.
The Head of the Accounting Study Program, Dr. Fitri Damayanti, SE., M.Si., explained that the purpose of the company visit was to introduce the Indonesian Institute of Accountants to new accounting students. She hoped that students would become more active in various IAI activities. Dr. Fitri also expressed her gratitude for the IAI leadership's hospitality and the visit by UIN Jakarta accounting students.
In the next session, Ms. Wiwit, an IAI staff member, explained the new accounting standard that will come into effect on January 1, 2027, namely Statement of Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK) No. 118 concerning the Presentation of Financial Statements. Accounting academics must be familiar with PSAK 118 so they are ready to implement it when it comes into effect on January 1, 2027.
The Company Visit activity concluded with a group photo. It is hoped that more UIN Jakarta accounting students will become professional accountants who can contribute to Indonesia's economic development.
