The Association of Economics Program Administrators (APSEPI) is organizing a Workshop and National Meeting with the theme “Curriculum Integration and Strengthening Competencies in the Field of Economics by 2025” at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia, on August 21–23, 2025. The event was attended by nearly all program coordinators of Economics and Development Economics programs in Indonesia. The Development Economics Program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta also participated in the event by delegating seven faculty members: Arief Fitrijanto, M.Si, Dr. Sofyan Rizal, M.Si, Rizqon Halal Syah Aji, Ph.D, Dr. Hartana I. Putra, M.Si, Zaenal Muttaqin, MPP, Najwa Khairina, M.A, and Shelby Devianty Widodo, M.Sc, as part of efforts to develop and strengthen the program's curriculum.
The first day of the event began with opening remarks from the Chair of APSEPI, Dr. Fajri Muharja, M.Si, and the Dean of FEB UI, Prof. Yulianti Abbas, Ph.D, followed by a presentation on the Need to Strengthen the Economics Curriculum in Responding to National and Global Challenges delivered by Prof. Ari Kuncoro, Ph.D, from the University of Indonesia. Prof. Ari Kuncoro, Ph.D, discussed the need to adapt the patterns of content and teaching in Economics to align with contemporary developments and societal needs.  

The first day of the event continued with a session on strengthening the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral curricula to reinforce understanding of the OBE-based curriculum and the formulation of the Economics Study Program Profile at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. The subsequent activity on the first day was Curriculum Content Enhancement. In this activity, participants were divided into three fields of economic science development: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Quantitative and Econometrics. The Curriculum Development Session based on these Academic Fields aimed to develop each academic field through empirical studies of issues and solutions for Economics Study Programs in Indonesia.  The second day continued with the reinforcement of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Quantitative and Econometrics learning materials, and concluded with a discussion on “Challenges and Fundamental Issues of Study Programs in Lamemba Accreditation” featuring speaker Rimawan Pradiptyo, M.Sc., Ph.D.
