Encouraging Faster Study Periods, Sharia Banking Master's Program Holds Academic Writing Workshop
Jakarta, October 27, 2025. In order to accelerate the study period, the Sharia Banking Master's Program held an academic writing workshop by inviting researcher Pihri Buhaerah from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to the theater room on the 5th floor of the FEB building on Jalan Ibnu Sina. This hybrid event was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Sofyan Rizal, accompanied by the Secretary of the Sharia Banking Master's Program, Muhajirin and Ady Cahyadi, and attended by all students of the Sharia Banking Master's Program, Sharia Economics Master's Program, and Development Economics Program.
In his speech representing the dean, Sofyan Rizal conveyed the importance of the academic writing workshop in increasing the number of students who graduate on time. "This workshop is important for students to find ideas for their final assignments, whether it be a thesis or dissertation. This activity is also expected to encourage students to graduate on time,“ said Sofyan Rizal. In line with Sofyan, the Head of the Sharia Banking Master's Program, Muhajirin, stated that this activity was designed to help students complete their studies well. ”We hope that this workshop can help master's program students at FEB to complete their studies immediately," said Muhajirin.
In his presentation, Pihri shared ways to find ideas. “There are three ways to find ideas for writing (a thesis or dissertation). From lectures, from current issues, and from replication & extension,” said Pihri, who was guided by moderator Ady Cahyadi, who is also the secretary of the Islamic banking master's program, to the students. Additionally, Pihri explained how to formulate good research questions so that the thesis can be started appropriately.
The academic writing activity took place over two days from October 27–28, 2025. (AC)
