SOUTH TANGERANG – The Development Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully held a workshop themed "Drafting Research Proposals to Publication: Building Quality Research, Realizing Reputable Publications" on Friday, October 30, 2026. The event took place at the 5th Floor Theater Room of the FEB Building on Jalan Ibnu Sina, Ciputat, South Tangerang.
Attended by undergraduate students of the Development Economics Study Program, the event was specifically designed to equip students with the essential skills to navigate thesis proposal development, data processing and analysis, and high-impact scientific publications.
The workshop commenced with welcoming remarks and an official opening by the Secretary of the Development Economics Study Program, Dr. Rr. Tini Anggraeni, M.Si. In her opening remarks, she underscored the critical importance of a robust research methodology foundation from the proposal stage, ensuring that students can produce scholarly works that not only fulfill academic requirements but also contribute meaningfully to the scientific literature and society.
The keynote session featured Dr. Edwin Aldrianto, M.Si., a lecturer at Universitas Nusa Bangsa, as the primary speaker. Delivering a comprehensive presentation titled "Navigating Thesis Proposals: Translating Abstract Ideas into Empirically Testable Research," Dr. Edwin thoroughly dissected the primary architecture of scholarly articles utilizing the AIMRaD framework (Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion). He elaborated on strategies for formulating research gaps, conducting critical Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR), and avoiding common pitfalls such as overly broad research topics or misinterpreting analytical tools as research objectives.
Following an interactive presentation, the event continued with an engaging discussion and Q&A session moderated by the Head of the Development Economics Study Program of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Arief Fitrijanto, S.Sci., M.Si. Participants utilized this opportunity to consult directly regarding proposal drafting dynamics and the analytical hurdles encountered in their respective research endeavors.
