FEB UIN Jakarta and Akhuwat College Pakistan Inaugurate International Cooperation at the 2025 APSEII Congress
Bandung, 12 November 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta officially established international cooperation with Akhuwat College Kasur Lahore, Pakistan through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in a series of APSEII Congress activities held at the Indonesian Education University (UPI) Bandung on November 12 2025.
The signing of this MoA was facilitated by the Association of Indonesian Islamic Economic Study Programs (APSEII) as the official association of Islamic economic study programs throughout Indonesia which plays an active role in strengthening global collaboration between universities in the field of Islamic economics. This activity was also attended by Prof. Dr. Asad Zaman, Chair of the Economics Department of Akhuwat College and one of the leading figures in the development of Islamic economics at the international level.
Chairman of APSEII, Cupian, SE, MT, Ph.D., said that international collaboration is one of the association's strategic agendas to strengthen academic networks and improve the quality of national Islamic economic education. “This collaboration is part of APSEII's commitment to opening international access for all member study programs. "We are trying to present opportunities for collaboration with well-known Islamic economic institutions in the world, including from Pakistan which has a strong academic tradition in this field," he said.
Present representing FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Deputy Dean for General Administration Dr. Erika Amelia, M.Si and Chair of the Sharia Economics Study Program, Ali Rama PhD. This activity was attended by managers of sharia economics/Islamic economics study programs throughout Indonesia. Deputy Dean for General Administration, Erika Amelia, said that her presence was proof that FEB UIN Jakarta continued to contribute and take a role in the progress of the sharia economics study program in Indonesia. "Our presence is proof that FEB UIN Jakarta continues to contribute and play a role in the progress of the sharia economics study program in Indonesia," said Erika.
Regarding the collaboration carried out, Ali Rama, who is also the Chair of the Sharia Economics Study Program, said that this collaboration is a strategic step in the process of internationalizing study programs. This “MoA at the faculty level will be the basis for preparing the Implementation Agreement between the Sharia Economics Study Program at UIN Jakarta and the Economics Department of Akhuwat College Pakistan. This collaboration is directed at strengthening cooperation in the fields of education, research, academic exchange, as well as developing an international standard Islamic economics curriculum,” he explained.
Furthermore, Ali Rama added that this kind of academic partnership is very important to enrich students' and lecturers' horizons, provide joint research opportunities, and expand access to international academic publications and networks. It is hoped that the collaboration between FEB UIN Jakarta and Akhuwat College can open various collaborative programs, ranging from guest lectures, lecturer and student exchanges, joint research, to developing innovations in Islamic economic studies that are relevant to global needs.
The signing of this MoA is one of the important agendas at the 2025 APSEII Congress which not only brings together Islamic economic academics from all over Indonesia, but also presents real collaboration with foreign institutions to increase the competitiveness of Islamic economic education at the international level.
