In his presentation, Prof. Razali Harun explained the curriculum design implemented at IIUM Malaysia, both for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. One of the main focuses that characterizes IIUM is the concept of Islamization of Knowledge and integration of science, which is reflected in the structure of its curriculum. This approach emphasizes the combination of Islamic values and modern science, creating graduates who are not only academically competent but also have a strong foundation in Islamic values.
Highlights of the Undergraduate Program Curriculum Prof. Razali also provided several important notes related to the curriculum structure of the Undergraduate Program at IIUM that are relevant to curriculum development at FEB UIN Jakarta. One of the issues raised was the number of elective courses that were considered too many, thus reducing the focus of learning. In addition, he highlighted the redundancy between several courses, such as Fiqh Muamalah and Sharia Economic Law, which he said needed to be clarified so that there would be no overlap.
Expected Graduate Profile The discussion also covered the profile of graduates to be achieved. Prof. Razali said that for undergraduate graduates, the focus can be directed at the applicable managerial aspects. However, for higher levels such as masters and doctoral, the graduate profile should be focused on developing abilities as philosophers and problem solvers, who are able to answer challenges in the field of Islamic economics science and practice in depth.
