Jakarta, September 24, 2026 — The Association of Islamic Economics and Business Faculties (AFEBIS) officially held a series of events for the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) and consortium at the Grand Whiz Poins Simatupang Hotel in Jakarta. Driven by the spirit of strengthening the quality of Islamic higher education, the first day of the event was attended by approximately 190 participants, who were delegates from all State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN) across Indonesia.

Present at this prestigious forum were faculty leaders—including deans and heads of study programs (kaprodi) specializing in Islamic economics and business—from various regions across the country. The presence of these institutional and program leaders reflects a shared commitment to responding to global dynamics and the challenges of higher education transformation in the modern era.

The first day’s schedule was filled with strategic activities, ranging from participant registration and intensive coordination with AFEBIS’s core leadership to meetings with the study program consortium. The opening ceremony will take place on the second day, Thursday, September 24, 2026, and will be attended by and feature important addresses from central leadership and the host institution, including the Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA, Ph.D; the Director General of Islamic Education, Prof. Dr. H. Amien Suyitno, M.Ag., AFEBIS Chairman Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, SE., M.Si., Ak., CA., ACPA., and Organizing Committee Chair Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, M.Si., Ak., CA.

The highlight of the first day’s events was followed by coordination regarding preparations for the plenary sessions, as well as the formation and inauguration of a consortium of study programs under the AFEBIS membership. This consortium is expected to serve as a platform for research collaboration, curriculum development based on the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI), and the strengthening of international accreditation for all Islamic economics and business study programs within PTKIN institutions.

Through this major gathering in the capital, AFEBIS is optimistic that it can continue to ensure the quality of Islamic higher education so that it remains adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive without compromising Islamic and Indonesian values. (AC)
