On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the Sharia Investment Gallery, Faculty of Economics and Business, State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta, in collaboration with the Student Association of Development Economics (HMPS), successfully held the 2026 Sharia Capital Market School (SCMS) at Theater 2, Faculty of Economics and Business, Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta). This event was part of the larger Sharia Capital Market Week (SCMW) 2026 series, themed "From Literacy to Ethical Action: A School for Young Investors." This event also demonstrated a synergy between the Islamic Investment Society (LSO) and the FEB's Student Organization (ORMAWA), namely the HMPS of Development Economics.
SCMS 2026 served as a platform for education and increased literacy in the Sharia capital market for students, particularly those in the Development Economics Study Program. This activity was a tangible contribution to fostering the younger generation's understanding of the importance of financial management, Sharia investment, and ethical and sustainable financial decision-making amidst the development of the modern financial industry.
The event was officially opened by the Master of Ceremonies and began with a series of ceremonies including the recitation of the Divine Word, the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, and remarks from Fadli Firzatillah, Chairman of the GIS FEB UIN Jakarta, Naufal Rafi Fajar, Deputy Chair of the SCMW 2026 Organizing Committee, and Muhammad Azka Khalaf, Chairman of the Student Association for Development Economics, HMPS. On this occasion, Dr. Asyari Hasan, M.Ag., CM., Deputy Dean III of the FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, also expressed his support for the event, expressing his appreciation for the students' efforts in improving Islamic capital market literacy and education within the academic environment. He emphasized that "the synergy between the Islamic Student Organization (LSO) and the FEB ORMAWA (Islamic Student Organization) needs to be fostered so that all students, regardless of their background, are involved."
The core seminar was divided into two sessions, featuring speakers from various strategic institutions in the Indonesian capital market industry, namely the Indonesia Stock Exchange, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), and Phillip Sekuritas Indonesia.
In the first session, participants gained an understanding of the Islamic capital market, the principles of Islamic investment, the importance of financial planning, and awareness of illegal financial practices in the digital age. Furthermore, they were introduced to the structure of the Indonesian capital market and the KSEI services that support transparency and investor protection.
The second session featured a discussion of basic investment concepts, the mechanism for opening an investment account through the POEMS application, and the importance of developing investment habits from an early age as a step towards financial freedom.
The event was interactive, featuring discussions and Q&A sessions between participants and speakers. The participants' enthusiasm was also evident in the various educational sessions organized by the committee to create an active and collaborative learning environment.
Through SCMS 2026, the Islamic Investment Gallery of the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Jakarta, hopes that this activity will raise student awareness of the importance of Islamic investment and financial literacy, while also encouraging the emergence of a financially savvy, adaptive, and integrated young generation to support the development of the Indonesian Islamic capital market.
