GIS HOLDS SCMS x HMPS SHARIA ECONOMICS 2026 SHARIA CAPITAL MARKET WEEK (SCMW) 2026
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, the Sharia Capital Market School (SCMS) 2026 was held with the theme "From Literacy to Ethical Action: A School for Young Investors." Amidst the growing threat of financial crimes such as fraudulent investments and consumer debt traps that often target the younger generation, education on financial management and safe investments has become an urgent need that cannot be postponed. SCMS addresses this challenge as part of the annual Sharia Capital Market Week (SCMW) seminar series. Through this activity, participants are equipped with literacy and a deeper understanding of Islamic finance and the capital market.
The event began at 8:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time with participant registration by members of the Sharia Investment Gallery (GIS). The series of activities was then officially opened by the Master of Ceremonies, Muhammad Rafly Akbar and Nizma Amanda, followed by a recitation of the Divine Word by Farhan Fatturohman, and the singing of Indonesia Raya and the UIN Hymn, led by Euis Susila Diningsih. In his remarks, Dr. Asyari Hasan expressed his appreciation for the implementation of SCMS 2026 as one of the flagship programs of the Sharia Investment Gallery. He emphasized that the dean's office fully supports various efforts to improve financial literacy and the sharia capital market among students. He believes that the capital market is an integral part of the development of the Islamic economy, which the younger generation needs to understand, especially considering the low level of investment participation among Indonesians compared to the enormous national economic potential. He hopes that students will not only become an investment-savvy generation but also be able to actively and responsibly participate in investment activities in accordance with Islamic principles.
Entering the main session, the seminar was divided into two sessions. The first session was moderated by Syifa Maulani Safaat, who was accompanied by speakers from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Ms. Suwariyanti; the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX Islamic), Mr. Reza Sadat; and the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI), Anggita Silviani Dewi. The material presented covered the importance of financial literacy and planning, an introduction to the Islamic capital market and its various investment instruments, and KSEI's role in providing protection and security for investors in the Indonesian capital market. The session concluded with a question-and-answer session and the presentation of certificates to the speakers by the Chairman of GIS 2026, Fadli Firzatillah.
The second session, moderated by Ghalih Dwi Prasetio, featured Muhammad Akbar Pamungkas from Phillip Sekuritas Indonesia. He presented material on investment concepts, types of capital market instruments such as stocks, mutual funds, and bonds, as well as a guide to opening an investment account through the POEMS ID application. This material aimed to equip participants with a practical understanding of investing while instilling awareness of the importance of early financial management to achieve a brighter financial future.
In closing, a prayer was led by Farhan Fatturohman, and the event was officially closed by the Master of Ceremonies at 12:40 p.m. WIB. Through SCMS 2026, it is hoped that participants and all administrators of the Sharia Investment Gallery, FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta for the 2025/2026 period, will be able to improve financial literacy, play an active role in the development of sharia investment, and contribute to building an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable sharia capital market ecosystem.
