GIS Holds Sharia Capital Market School 2 to Strengthen Students' Investment Literacy
South Tangerang, June 23, 2026. The 2nd Floor Theater of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Sharia Investment Gallery (GIS), Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, successfully held the Sharia Capital Market School (SPMS 2) on Tuesday (June 23, 2026). This event is part of the Smart Investment Series (SIS) 2026, which aims to improve Sharia capital market literacy and encourage the emergence of a generation of rational, adaptive, and long-term-oriented young investors.
Themed "Building Smart Young Sharia Investors in the Capital Market Era," this event was held through a collaboration between the Sharia Investment Gallery of the Faculty of Economics and Business and the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. SPMS 2 featured various speakers from strategic institutions in the Indonesian capital market industry to provide a comprehensive understanding of Sharia investment, investor protection, and investment practices in the digital era.
The event opened with remarks from the Chief Executive of SPMS 2, Syifa Maulani Safa'at, the General Chair of GIS FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Fadli Firzatillah, the Advisor of GIS UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Ir. Roikhan Mochamad Aziz, M.M., and the Deputy Dean I of the Faculty of Science and Technology UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Dr. La Ode Sumarlin. This event also received support from the Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation of the Faculty of Economics and Business UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Asyari Hasan M.,Ag CM. The leaders emphasized the importance of improving financial literacy and investment for students as provisions in facing increasingly dynamic economic developments and the financial world.
In the first session, titled "Introduction to Capital Market: Foundations and Market Mechanisms," Fadly Fatah, Head of the Banten Region of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), delivered a presentation on the fundamentals of capital markets, investment instruments, an introduction to the Islamic capital market, and the benefits of long-term investment. This presentation provided an overview of the development of the Indonesian capital market and the importance of developing a sustainable investment mindset from a young age.
Next, Suwariyanti, Manager of PEPK, Regional Finance, and LMST at the Financial Services Authority (OJK), presented a presentation on investor protection and the importance of developing healthy investment habits. In her presentation, participants were encouraged to understand the OJK's role in maintaining the stability of the financial services sector, improving public financial literacy, and protecting investors from various forms of illegal investment activity.
The next presentation was delivered by Abdul Aziz Al Bakkar, Head of the Investor Services Education Unit at PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI). In this session, participants gained insight into the protection and administration of Islamic investor assets in the digital era, including the securities ownership registration system, investment asset security, and KSEI's role in supporting a safe and transparent capital market ecosystem.
Entering the second session, titled "Investing Beyond Trends: Preparing Young Investors for the Future Market," participants received a presentation on the Sharia Online Trading System (SOTS) from a representative of the External Affairs Department. This session introduced participants to the mechanisms of sharia stock transactions, the use of stock trading platforms, and various considerations for starting a wise investment.
The participants' enthusiasm was evident throughout the event, as the discussion and interactive question-and-answer session unfolded. Questions about investment strategies, investor asset security, and future opportunities in the sharia capital market demonstrated the students' strong interest in the world of investment and financial management.
Through the Sharia Capital Market School 2, GIS FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta hopes that students will improve their understanding of the sharia capital market, understand the importance of investor protection, and be able to make rational, measured, and responsible investment decisions. This activity also demonstrates GIS FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta's commitment to supporting the strengthening of financial literacy and the sharia capital market for Indonesia's young generation.
