GIS Holds SHARIA CAPITAL MARKET SCHOOL (SCMS) in collaboration with the Student Association of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (DIRASAT ISLAMIYAH) as part of SHARIA CAPITAL MARKET WEEK (SCMW) 2026
On Monday, May 25, 2026, the Sharia Capital Market School (SCMS) 2026 was held with the theme "From Literacy to Ethical Action: A School for Young Investors." Amidst the growing threat of financial crimes such as fraudulent investments and consumer debt traps that often target the younger generation, education on financial management and safe investments has become an urgent need that cannot be postponed. SCMS is here to address this challenge as part of the annual SCMW seminar series. Beginning with welcoming remarks and a symbolic opening ceremony, the event continued with presentations to equip participants with literacy and a deeper understanding of Islamic finance and capital markets.
The event began at 8:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time with participant registration by members of the Sharia Investment Gallery (GIS). The series of events was officially opened by the Master of Ceremonies, Aqila Alif Ardianto and Puspa Ridhowati. The event was followed by a recitation of the Divine Word by Fajar Ahmadinejad Putra, and the singing of Indonesia Raya and the UIN Hymn, led by Salma Sari Qolbi. Welcome remarks were given by the Chairperson of GIS, Fadli Firzatillah, and the Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Asyari Hasan, M.Ag., CM. In his remarks, Mr. Asyari expressed his appreciation for the students' efforts in improving financial literacy and Islamic capital market education in the academic environment. He emphasized that "the synergy between LSO and ORMAWA through SCMS activities needs to be continuously developed and expanded to faculties outside the FEB, including FDI, as an effort to expand Islamic capital market literacy and education in the academic environment." The event continued with a group photo session.

Entering the main session, the seminar was divided into two sections. The first session was moderated by Salsa Bilah Ananda Sahla, who accompanied speakers from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Ms. Suwariyanti, and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Mr. Reza Sadat. The material presented covered financial intelligence, an introduction to the Islamic capital market, investor protection, and the structure and services in the Indonesian capital market. The session concluded with a question and answer session, followed by the presentation of certificates by the Chairperson of the Committee, Lutfhia Prihandini.
The second session was moderated by Iqbal Fahrezi Hidayat and featured a single speaker, Muhammad Akbar Pamungkas from Phillip Sekuritas Indonesia. He presented material on the concept of investing, types of capital market instruments such as stocks, mutual funds, and bonds, as well as a guide to opening an investment account through the POEMS ID application. This material aimed to equip participants with the basics of investing and instill awareness of the crucial importance of taking an active role in financial management from an early age to secure their financial future. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session and the presentation of certificates to the speakers and moderator by M. Helmy Fauzzan, Chairman of the Student Council of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
A closing prayer was led by Fajar Ahmadinejad Putra, and the event was officially closed by the Master of Ceremonies at 1:25 PM WIB. Through SCMS 2026, it is hoped that participants and all administrators of the Sharia Investment Gallery, FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, 2025/2026, will be able to improve financial literacy, play an active role in the development of sharia investment, and contribute to building an inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable sharia capital market ecosystem.(ah)
