Guest Lecture: Digital Transformation of Islamic Finance in Indonesia
Jakarta, 18 May 2024 – The Sharia Banking Doctoral Study Program held a Visiting Professor event with the theme "Digital Transformation of Islamic Finance in Indonesia". This event will take place on Saturday, May 18 2024 at the theater on the 2nd floor of Postgraduate FEB UIN Jakarta.
This event presented the main speaker, namely, Prof. Rifki Ismal (Director of Bank Indonesia). Prof. Rifki Ismal is a lecturer who teaches at 19 universities in Indonesia. Apart from that, the event was moderated by Diamantin Rohadatul Aisy, MA. (Lecturer at FEB UIN Jakarta) with his unique and enthusiastic demeanor.
Starting this event, the Dean of FEB UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, M.Si., Ak., CA. who emphasized the importance of this event for PhD students in Sharia Banking. The Dean expressed his hope that the speakers could inspire and motivate students.
Then Prof. Rifki Ismal explained the material from the theme which underlined that the adoption of innovative technology and business models is a prominent new trend that is rapidly changing the Islamic Financial Services Industry (IFSI) ecosystem, and Islamic banks (IB) are not immune to this development. “The digital platform streamlines SBSN sukuk investments, enabling fast and convenient purchases from anywhere with internet access, eliminating the need for branch visits and reducing administrative hassles.
This public lecture ended with a question and answer session where participants had the opportunity to delve further into the material presented and ask specific questions related to current issues in the context of digital economic transformation in Indonesia.
