MES student wins Best Paper ICISC 2025 at UTM Malaysia

Hamdan Fathurrahman, a student of the Master of Sharia Economics (MES) study program of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta won the best paper award at the International Conference on Islamic Studies and Civilization (ICISC) 2025. This prestigious conference was held for two days on June 17-18, 2025 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
In this event, Hamdan presented a paper entitled Adoption of Digital Gold Savings in Society: A Case Study of BSI Mobile Banking, which attracted the attention of the participants and judges due to the quality of his in-depth research and its relevance to the development of modern Islamic finance.


ICISC 2025 is an international platform dedicated to advancing the understanding of Islamic values and their role in promoting sustainable development. The conference brings together leading thinkers, academics, and practitioners from around the world to discuss innovative approaches to integrating Islamic ethics into the framework of contemporary society. The main theme of the conference, which emphasized the principle of ihsan (excellence in doing good), served as the foundation for discussions on how Islamic values can inspire transformative solutions to global challenges. Hamdan's paper, which examined the adoption of digital gold savings through Islamic banking platforms, aligned with the conference's mission as it highlighted Islamic financial innovations that support financial inclusion and prosperity.

Chairman of the MES study program, Nofrianto expressed his pride in Hamdan's achievement. "We are proud of the achievements of MES students, Hamdan who won the best paper category in Malaysia. This is proof that MES students are ready to compete in the international arena," said Nofrianto. Furthermore, MES study program will continue to encourage students to achieve national and international achievements.
