National MBKM Program, 14 FEB Students Participate in Batik Making Activity in Laweyan, Solo
Surakarta, December 6, 2025. The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held the National Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) event from December 5-9, 2025. This MBKM event was held in the city of Surakarta, involving 14 students and 5 accompanying lecturers. The 14 students are M. Fadhil Azhim, M. Adhnan Zulfikar, Viola Kamaylia, Alisya Firdausi, M. Zamahsyari, Aliyah Rahma, Fasma Syagina, Zalfa Putri, Arya Ramadhan, Isye Roehani, Asti Annisa, Amin Al Ayubi, Windy Kamila, and Yahya Ayyasy. This MBKM activity was led by the Head of the Development Economics Study Program, Arief Fitrijanto, accompanied by Sofyan Rizal, Ade Ananto, RR. Tini Anggraeni, and Ady Cahyadi.
The series of MBKM Surakarta activities began with a visit to the Mahkota Laweyan Batik MSME in Solo. While at the location, the students were given material on the provision of raw materials, the production process, and the marketing process of Laweyan hand-drawn batik. Arya, a student of the Sharia Economics study program, expressed his positive impressions of the MBKM Surakarta activity. "This MBKM activity is very positive for us, the students of FEB UIN Jakarta. Through this activity, we gained new experiences such as making Laweyan hand-drawn batik, learning how to dye batik, the production process, and the marketing process of authentic Laweyan hand-drawn batik," said Arya enthusiastically.
The head of the Surakarta MBKM Team, Arief Fitrijanto, expressed his hopes for this MBKM activity. "We hope that this Surakarta MBKM activity will provide valuable insights into entrepreneurship, the supply of raw materials, the production process, and the marketing process of authentic Laweyan hand-drawn batik. The following day, we will also hold discussions with speakers from entrepreneurs, regulators (heads of cooperatives and MSMEs), bank financing companies, and academics from UIN Surakarta. Hopefully, this activity will be beneficial for students, lecturers, and also FEB UIN Jakarta," said Arief.
In addition to academic activities, the MBKM Surakarta program also includes cultural tours of the royal palace, economic empowerment initiatives around Zayed Mosque in Solo, and the BUMDES Umbul Ponggok in Klaten. (AC)
