Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Opens Field Assessment for Sharia Banking Study Program, Targets Excellent Accreditation

Jakarta, February 18, 2026. The Rector of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Prof. Asep Saepudin Jahar, MA., PhD officially opened a series of Field Assessment (AL) events for the Bachelor's (S1) and Doctoral (S3) Sharia Banking Study Programs, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). This crucial activity for academic quality assurance is scheduled to take place over three days, from February 18 to 20, 2026.

In his opening remarks, the Rector emphasized that the accreditation process is not merely an administrative routine, but a reflection of the university's commitment to maintaining the quality standards of Islamic higher education in Indonesia. He expressed high optimism that both study programs would achieve an Excellent rating.

“The presence of the assessment team is a momentum for us to take an objective look at ourselves. With the thorough preparations made by the FEB team, we hope that the final result will be Excellent accreditation, which will strengthen UIN Jakarta's position as a center of excellence for global Islamic economics and banking studies,” said the Rector.

Assessment Team and Activities

The field assessment process is guided by two experts in their fields who act as the assessment team, namely Prof. Dr. Pupung Purnamasari, SE., M.Si. (Islamic University of Bandung) and Prof. Dr. Jamal Abdul Aziz, M.Ag. (UIN Purwokerto). Over the next three days, the assessment team will verify documents, review facilities and infrastructure, and conduct interviews with stakeholders, including lecturers, students, alumni, and graduate users.

The solemn opening ceremony, which took place in the Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of FEB, was attended by faculty and university leaders, including the Dean of FEB, Prof. Dr. Ibnu Qizam, M.Si., the Head of the Main Library, the Chair of LPM, the Chair of LP2M, the Head of Pustipanda, the Vice Deans within FEB, Head of Administration, Chairs and Secretaries of the Bachelor's and Doctoral Programs in Islamic Banking, as well as lecturers and academic staff.

The Dean of FEB, Prof. Ibnu Qizam, stated in his report that all elements of the faculty had worked together to present accurate field data and facts in accordance with the applicable accreditation instruments. He hoped that the input from the assessors would serve as constructive evaluation material for the development of study programs in the future.

This activity is expected to run smoothly until the closing day, with high hopes that the “Excellent” status will be a special gift for the academic community of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta at the beginning of 2026. (AC)
