Seisdance of FEB UIN Jakarta Performs at the Opening of the 14th ASEAN Universities International Conference on Islamic Finance

Serpong, October 13, 2026 — Seisdance, a semi-autonomous student organization (LSO) under the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, participated in the opening ceremony of the 14th ASEAN Universities International Conference on Islamic Finance, held at the Swiss-Belhotel Serpong, BSD, on Tuesday (October 13, 2026). For the occasion, Seisdance presented the *Ratoh Jaroe* dance, featuring 11 of its members.

The performance was part of the opening proceedings for the international conference, which brought together academics and practitioners to discuss the development of Islamic finance within the ASEAN region. The inclusion of Seisdance added an element of Indonesian art and culture to this international-scale academic event.

Through their rendition of the *Ratoh Jaroe* dance, the 11 Seisdance members showcased the synchronized, harmonious movements that define the dance. This performance served as a way for students to introduce the richness of Indonesian art and culture to conference participants from diverse backgrounds.

Seisdance’s participation was commended by the Vice Dean III of FEB UIN Jakarta, who praised the performance and encouraged the members to continue developing their potential and creativity.

“Seisdance is fantastic! I hope you continue to grow, achieve even more, and never stop innovating. Keep honing your creativity, maintain your unity, and seize every opportunity to showcase your best abilities. May Seisdance continue to excel and bring honor to both the faculty and the university,” said the Vice Dean III of FEB UIN Jakarta.

Vania, a member of Seisdance, expressed her pride in being part of the performance. She noted that the opportunity to perform at the opening of an international conference served as a valuable experience for all the members, encouraging them to keep learning and refining their skills. “I am happy and proud to have had the opportunity to perform at such a major event alongside my friends from Seisdance. For me, this was not just about the dance performance itself; it was also about learning how to maintain cohesion, delivering our best, and bringing Indonesian culture to a broader stage. I hope that in the future, Seisdance continues to grow, secures more performance opportunities, and keeps achieving success together,” said Vania.

The appreciation shown by the faculty, combined with the experiences gained by the members, will hopefully serve as motivation for Seisdance to continue its creative endeavors. Such support also encourages students to take an active role in various activities that broaden their experiences and enhance their achievements.

Through this initiative, Seisdance—part of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Jakarta—demonstrates that students can contribute across diverse fields, including the preservation of arts and culture, within an increasingly expansive and varied academic environment.

This participation is expected to be a positive step for Seisdance as it continues to foster creativity, strengthen team unity, and pursue achievements at both the national and international levels. (seisd)
