Sharia Banking Students Visit Bank Indonesia Museum for a Glimpse into the Journey of Financial Institutions in Indonesia
Jakarta, July 24, 2025 - The Sharia Banking Study Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organized a visit to the Bank Indonesia Museum on Thursday, July 24, 2025. During the visit, students were invited to walk through the exhibition rooms that display interactive information about the history of money, payment systems, the role of De Javasche Bank until its transformation into Bank Indonesia, and the influence of globalization on the national financial system. Students also received an explanation of Bank Indonesia's contribution in strengthening the Islamic economy through policy instruments and public education. With this visit, students are expected not only to understand economic and financial theory from an academic aspect, but also to be able to appreciate the long journey of Indonesian financial institutions that have helped shape the current economic structure.
Secretary of the Islamic Banking Study Program, Ade Ananto, said that the purpose of the visit to the Bank Indonesia Museum was to trace the journey of financial institutions in Indonesia. “The purpose of this activity is to introduce the long journey of the establishment of financial institutions in our country, especially Bank Indonesia,” said the lecturer who is familiarly called Ade.
The event was closed with hospitality and group photos at the Bank Indonesia Museum. (AC)
