The Accounting Study Program held an International Guest Lecturer in Auditing with speakers from the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education, Australia.
Jakarta, June 26, 2026. The Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, State Islamic University (UIN Jakarta), held an International Guest Lecture on Auditing, themed "Fostering Global Perspectives in the Public Accounting Profession." The guest lecturer was Faisal Abdullah, Ph.D., from the Adelaide Institute of Higher Education, Australia. Faisal Abdullah, Ph.D., an Indonesian graduate of Flinders University, Australia. The guest lecture was moderated by Dr. Wilda Farah, M.Sc., Ak., CA., CPA., BKP, a lecturer in the FEB Accounting Study Program. This guest lecture was attended by approximately one hundred second and fourth semester accounting students, also attended by the Head of the Accounting Study Program Dr. Fitri Damayanti, M.Si, Secretary of the Accounting Study Program Hepi Prayudiawan, SE., MM., Ak., CA, senior lecturer in Auditing Drs. Abdul Hamid Cebba, MBA., CPA., Ak., CA. The guest lecture was held in the Theater Room of the FEB UIN Jakarta graduate campus.
The guest lecture opened with a recitation from the Quran. It was followed by an opening speech by the Head of the Accounting Study Program, Dr. Fitri Damayanti, M.Si., who encouraged accounting students to take advantage of the opportunity to ask questions about accounting and auditing to the Australian speaker.
The session continued with the main session, with a presentation by Faisal Abdullah, Ph.D. He explained the employment conditions in Australia, particularly regarding the accounting profession. The accounting profession in Australia requires various rigorous international certifications, such as CA and CPA degrees. The speaker explained that accountants must possess self-confidence, honesty, and the ability to work in a team. Dr. Abdullah motivated accounting students to convey their ideas clearly. He presented several special prizes to students who successfully answered the speaker's questions.
The session concluded with the presentation of plaques, a group photo with all participants, and a closing prayer. He hoped that accounting students at UIN Jakarta would be more motivated to pursue international careers after the lecture.
