The Development Economics Program Holds a Curriculum Review and Develops an OBE-Based Course Syllabus
CIPUTAT — The Development Economics Program, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta successfully held an event titled “Curriculum Review and Development of Semester Learning Plans (SLPs) Based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE).” This strategic academic event was held on Friday, December 13, 2024, in the 2nd Floor Meeting Room of the FEB UIN Jakarta Building on Jalan Ibnu Sina.
The event, attended by faculty members from the program, aimed to evaluate and align teaching methods with the latest graduate competency standards. The event was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Sofyan Rizal, M.Si. The OBE approach emphasizes measurable learning outcomes, making it relevant to industry needs and global economic dynamics.
Dr. Hexana Sri Lastanti, M.Si., from Trisakti University, served as an expert speaker and delivered a comprehensive presentation on strategies, indicator development, and the technical aspects of OBE curriculum design. The presentation and discussion were interactively facilitated by Dr. Fitri Amalia, M.Si., a lecturer in the Development Economics Program who acted as moderator.
The Head of the Development Economics Study Program, Dr. Arief Fitrijanto, M.Si., emphasized the urgency of this curriculum update in his remarks to the participants.
“This curriculum review and the development of OBE-based course syllabi are crucial because they will serve as the primary guide for teaching activities within the program,” said Dr. Arief.
Through the organization of this curriculum review and workshop, the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta hopes that all faculty members will be able to implement a more adaptive and student-centered learning process, with the aim of producing competent, competitive, and outstanding graduates in Development Economics.
