The FEB UIN Jakarta Student Association held a comparative study at the FEBI UIN Walisongo Semarang Student Association

Semarang, October 27-29, 2025. A comparative study between the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (DEMA FEB) of Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta and DEMA FEBI of Walisongo State Islamic University (UIN) Semarang was successfully held on October 27-28, 2025, at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (UIN Walisongo Semarang).
This activity is part of the Student Affairs Division's work program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta) to strengthen institutional relationships between student organizations, broaden institutional perspectives, and strengthen synergy and collaboration across campuses in developing sustainable student activities.
The official event began on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. WIB, in a solemn and orderly atmosphere. The opening ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Quran, the singing of Indonesia Raya, the UIN Jakarta Hymn, and the UIN Semarang March, along with remarks from various parties.

The first remarks were delivered by the Head of the Event Committee, followed by the Chair of the Student Executive Board (DEMA FEB) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the Chair of the Student Executive Board (DEMA FEBI) of UIN Walisongo Semarang, who emphasized the importance of collaboration, communication, and the exchange of experiences in student organization management.
Next, the Deputy Dean III for Student Affairs of the Faculty of Economics and Business of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Dr. Asyari Hasan, M.Ag., CM., in his remarks, stated that this event was not merely a ceremonial or formality between institutions, but rather a forum for uniting all student organizations (ORMAWA) without exception.

He emphasized that such activities are expected to foster synergy and solidarity between organizations, including DEMA, HMPS, and LSO/UKM, so that they can work together in carrying out their respective functions and roles. Dr. Asyari also emphasized that this collaborative spirit is a crucial foundation for building a solid, active, and productive student climate. He advised all participants to maintain integrity, loyalty, and professionalism, and to continue fostering a spirit of dedication to the faculty through activities oriented towards mutual progress.
The series of events then continued with organizational presentation sessions from each party. In this session, representatives from the Student Executive Board (DEMA FEB UIN Jakarta) and the Student Executive Board (DEMA FEBI UIN Walisongo Semarang) presented their organizational structure, division of ministries, and the main duties and functions of each position within the management. This presentation provided a forum for mutual learning regarding work systems, coordination patterns, and program implementation strategies within the Faculty of Economics and Business.
Following the presentations, the event continued with Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) divided based on institutional structure:
1. Per Ministry of DEMA, which discussed work strategies, program innovation, and synergy between fields.
2. Per Study Program Student Association (HMPS), which discussed advocacy management, academics, and strengthening communication between study programs.
3. Per Semi-Autonomous Institution (LSO) and Student Activity Unit (UKM), which highlighted the development of student interests, talents, entrepreneurship, and creative activities.
The discussion was interactive, lively, and full of enthusiasm. Each group discussed the role and contribution of their institution in building synergy between organizations at the faculty level. These discussions yielded various collaborative ideas that can be implemented together in the future.
Following the formal session, the atmosphere became more relaxed with an icebreaker and a friendly gathering attended by all participants. This activity aimed to strengthen personal relationships between students from both campuses. The event then continued with the presentation of plaques and souvenirs as a token of appreciation and a symbol of institutional collaboration between the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEBI) of UIN Walisongo Semarang. The event concluded with a group prayer and a documentation session in the Rectorate Auditorium of FEBI UIN Walisongo Semarang in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, October 28, 2025, participants continued their activities with an educational and recreational visit to several historical destinations in Semarang, such as Lawang Sewu, Sam Poo Kong Temple, and a local souvenir center. This activity not only served as a refreshing moment but also strengthened the sense of togetherness among participants from both faculties.
This comparative study activity had significant positive impacts, including:
1. Improving structural and functional understanding within student organizations.
2. Establishing stronger institutional ties between the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UIN Jakarta and the Faculty of Business and Business (FEBI) UIN Walisongo Semarang.
3. Fostering a spirit of solidarity and collaboration between student organizations.
4. Developing a shared commitment to developing more innovative, participatory, and sustainable student activities.
With this activity, it is hoped that collaboration between the faculties of economics and business within UIN will continue to grow and inspire for student organizations throughout Indonesia to strengthen cross-institutional synergy for the advancement of the student world. (ah)
