To Accelerate the Global Curriculum, the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Sends a Delegation to the AFEBI Workshop on OBE and Case-Game-Based Learning in Balikpapan
BALIKPAPAN, JULY 16, 2026 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to improving academic quality to international standards by sending an official delegation to attend a national event organized by the National Executive Board of the Association of Indonesian Faculties of Economics and Business (DPN AFEBI). Held at the Novotel Balikpapan Hotel in East Kalimantan, representatives from FEB UIN Jakarta were present to actively participate in the “OBE & Case-Game Based Learning Workshop,” which took place from Wednesday through Saturday, July 15–18, 2026.
The FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta delegation for this strategic event was represented by two senior academics: Dr. Ady Cahyadi, SE., M.Si, and Dr. Fadlillah Fauzukhaq. Their participation represents a concrete step by the faculty to meet the maximum delegation quota per AFEBI member institution, with the aim of bringing transformative change to the teaching system on campus.
This series of intensive workshops featured experts from various leading universities in Indonesia. The first day of the workshop was led by keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Dony Abdul Chalid, S.E., M.M., Ph.D., who explored the essence of “Designing an OBE System: Mission Alignment, Curriculum Mapping, and Assurance of Learning,” as well as follow-up steps for “Continuous Improvement for Meaningful Impact.” Practical training on rubric-based assessment was also explored in depth with expert instructors from Airlangga University (UNAIR).
On the following day, the focus shifted to innovations in modern interactive teaching. The delegation learned about the implementation of Game-Based Learning with the Educational Games Laboratory (LEG) team from SBM ITB, led by Nur Arief Rahmatsyah Putranto, ST, MHRM (Hons), and Dr. Yuanita Handayati, ST, MSM. This session was then complemented by an in-depth exploration of the Case-Based Learning method led by Prof. Nurul Indarti, SE, Sivilokonom, Cand. Merc., Ph.D., Chair of the Department of Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), UGM.
In addition to participating in the curriculum enrichment program, on the final day of the event (Saturday, July 18, 2026), the delegation from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is also scheduled to take part in a Community Service (PKM) program involving a tree-planting initiative in the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) area. This program represents a tangible contribution by Indonesian economics scholars to sustainable development and environmental conservation around the site of the future new capital.
Through the participation of Dr. Ady Cahyadi and Dr. Fadlillah Fauzukhaq in this AFEBI event, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is preparing to fully integrate outcome-based education and case studies into its curriculum. This step is expected to produce graduates who are not only theoretically excellent but also competent, adaptable, and relevant to the current dynamics of the global job market. (AC)
