To Enhance Academic Quality, the Master’s Program in Islamic Banking at UIN North Sumatra Conducts a Study Visit to the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Jakarta
Ciputat, April 22, 2026 – The Master’s Program in Islamic Banking at the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN North Sumatra, conducted a benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta on Wednesday (April 22). The visit aimed to synchronize curricula, share accreditation strategies, and expand the network of cooperation among Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia.
The delegation from UIN North Sumatra was led directly by the Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Banking, Dr. Sugianto, MA, accompanied by the Program Secretary, Dr. Yusrizal, M.Si. The group was warmly welcomed by the leadership of FEB UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the FEB Building on Jalan Ibnu Sina.
Leadership Collaboration
The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of UIN Jakarta, Dr. Sofyan Rizal, M.Si., officially received the delegation on behalf of the Dean. He was accompanied by other faculty leaders, including:

- Asyhari Hasan, M.Ag. (Vice Dean for Student Affairs & Cooperation)
- Muhajirin, M.E.I. (Head of the Master’s Program in Islamic Banking)

- Ali Rama, Ph.D. (Head of the Islamic Economics Program)
Discussion Focus: Curriculum and Accreditation
During an interactive discussion session, both parties addressed various strategic issues related to the development of Islamic economics higher education. Key discussion points included:
Curriculum Transformation: Adapting the curriculum to meet the current needs of the Islamic banking industry and integrating Islamic values with science.
Accreditation Strategy: Sharing experiences in navigating national and international accreditation processes to maintain high standards of educational quality.
Strengthening Networks: An agreement to strengthen collaboration in joint research, faculty exchanges, and scientific publications among graduate programs.
"This visit is not merely a social call, but a concrete step we are taking to ensure the quality of education in the UINSU Master’s Program in Islamic Banking remains relevant. Learning from the best practices at UIN Jakarta is a strategic step for the development of our program," said Dr. Sugianto, MA.
In line with this, Dr. Sofyan Rizal, M.Si, emphasized that collaboration among UINs is crucial in the era of global competition. "We are very open to exchanging ideas. This synergy is expected to position both institutions as centers of excellence in Islamic economics at the international level," he stated.
The event concluded with an exchange of plaques as a symbol of the commitment to ongoing cooperation, followed by a group photo of the leadership of both universities. (AC)
