To Strengthen Cross-Sector Cybersecurity, Dr. Arisman, a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Jakarta, Attends a Strategic Collaboration Event Between BSSN and Mataram University

Mataram, June 24, 2026 — Mataram University (Unram), in collaboration with the National Cyber and Cryptography Agency (BSSN), officially launched a regional-scale collaborative initiative to strengthen cross-sectoral cybersecurity capabilities in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and the surrounding areas. This strategic event, held on June 23–24, 2026, took place in person at the Mataram University Senate Meeting Room. 
At this crucial forum, Dr. Arisman—a lecturer in the Development Economics Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and Director of the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS)—attended in person as a key figure and keynote speaker. His presence underscored the active role of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta academics in addressing global challenges in the era of digital transformation, particularly those impacting economic resilience and cyber governance at the regional level. 

Cross-Sectoral Synergy and the Presence of Key Figures
This event was officially opened and attended by high-ranking officials from the government and state institutions, including:
•    Hj. Indah Dhamayanti Putri, S.E., M.I.P. (Deputy Governor of West Nusa Tenggara) 
•    Prof. Dr. Sukardi, M.Pd. (Rector of Mataram University) 
•    Drs. Nugroho Sulistyo Budi (Head of the National Cyber and Cryptography Agency of the Republic of Indonesia) 
•    Dr. Arisman (Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Jakarta & Director of CSEAS) 
This collaboration aims to build strong synergy among local governments, academics, and information technology (IT) practitioners to mitigate increasingly complex cyber threats. 
“Cybersecurity is no longer merely a technical infrastructure issue, but a key pillar in maintaining social stability and economic sustainability in the modern era. Cross-sectoral involvement—ranging from academics and local governments to public facilities such as hospitals—is the key to building inclusive cyber resilience,” said Dr. Arisman on the sidelines of the event. 

Participation of Critical Infrastructure Managers
This forum was attended by hundreds of key participants, including regional heads, representatives of regency and city governments throughout West Nusa Tenggara Province, as well as information technology managers from various universities and hospitals. Discussions focused on raising awareness of cyber law, personal data protection, the protection of critical information infrastructure, and preparedness for handling cyber incidents in both the public and private sectors. 
Through this participation, the Development Economics Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, continues to demonstrate its commitment to making tangible contributions beyond the ivory tower of academia. The integration of development economics perspectives with cross-sectoral cybersecurity resilience is expected to yield practical policy recommendations for strengthening regions across Indonesia.
