To Strengthen Ties and Finalize Preparations for AICIF 2026, a Group of Faculty Members from the Faculty of Economics and Business at UIN Jakarta Visits the Cendekia Amanah Islamic Boarding School
Depok, April 14, 2026 – A delegation of faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta paid a courtesy visit to the Cendekia Amanah Islamic Boarding School in Depok on Monday (April 13, 2026). This academic and social visit was led directly by the Vice Dean for General Administration of FEB UIN Jakarta, Dr. Erika Amelia, M.Si.
The FEB UIN Jakarta delegation was warmly welcomed by the Director of the Cendekia Amanah Islamic Boarding School, Kyai Cholil Nafis, who is also the Chairman of the DSN MUI Executive Board. This meeting served as an important opportunity to strengthen Islamic brotherhood while fostering synergy between higher education institutions and Islamic boarding schools.
In addition to the social gathering, this visit specifically focused on strategic discussions regarding preparations for the 2026 ASEAN Islamic Conference (AICIF). UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta is scheduled to serve as the host and organizer of this international academic event.
Also present in the discussion were the Chair of the AICIF 2026 Organizing Committee, Rahmawati, Ph.D., Ali Rama, Ph.D., Dr. Nofrianto, Head of General Affairs Iin Marlina, along with the rest of the organizing committee members. The involvement of Islamic boarding school figures such as Kyai Cholil Nafis is expected to provide comprehensive input, strategic insights, and moral support to ensure the success of AICIF 2026, which will address crucial themes surrounding the economy, finance, and Islamic civilization.
Firsthand Look at the Economic Self-Reliance of the Islamic Boarding School
After the discussion session concluded, the group of lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Jakarta was taken on a tour to observe firsthand the agribusiness units developed by the residents of the Cendekia Amanah Islamic boarding school. This field visit provided a fascinating glimpse into the practical implementation of economic self-reliance within the Muslim community.
The faculty members had the opportunity to see firsthand the well-managed hydroponic farm. The group even helped harvest fresh vegetables from the garden. In addition to the hydroponics, the visit continued with a tour of the tilapia fish farm, the goat farm, and the layer chicken farm.
“We were absolutely delighted to meet Kyai Cholil Nafis, engage in discussions, and witness firsthand the economic empowerment initiatives at the Cendekia Amanah Islamic boarding school,” said Erika as she shopped for spinach and bok choy grown in the hydroponic garden.
The economic empowerment initiatives within the Cendekia Amanah Islamic Boarding School received positive recognition from the FEB UIN Jakarta delegation. These integrated agribusiness practices were deemed aligned with the spirit of Islamic economics and business taught in the classroom—namely, fostering self-reliance, food security, and the empowerment of the surrounding community.
The visit, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, concluded with a group photo session in the front yard of the Cendekia Amanah Islamic Boarding School, while showcasing the harvest of hydroponic vegetables as a symbol of productive collaboration and a source of blessings. (AC)
