Visiting the Halal Science Center at Chulalongkorn University Thailand, FEB UIN Jakarta Students are Introduced to the HAL-Q System
Bangkok, December 1, 2025. Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta were introduced to the Halal Assurance Liability Quality (HAL-Q) System during their visit to Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. This activity, carried out as part of the International Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, was attended by 14 students and 3 accompanying lecturers. The fourteen students from various study programs were accompanied by Arief Fitrijanto, Arisman, and Ade Ananto, lecturers from FEB UIN Jakarta.
The MBKM FEB UIN Jakarta group was welcomed by the founder of the Halal Science Center (HSC), Prof. Dr. Winai Dahlan. In his presentation, Prof. Winai explained the role of HSC in the halal certification infrastructure in Thailand. “HSC plays a very strategic role in the halal certification infrastructure in Thailand. HSC has a halal laboratory and a halal product assurance system that we call the Halal Assurance Liability Quality (HAL-Q) System,” said Prof. Winai, who was accompanied by HSC Thailand officials.
The accompanying lecturer for MBKM Thailand, Ade Ananto, said that the activities at HSC Chulalongkorn University Thailand showed FEB's commitment to developing halal products on a global scale. “Our visit to HSC Thailand is proof that FEB UIN Jakarta plays an active role in halal product assurance on an ASEAN and global scale,” said Ade, who is also the secretary of the Sharia Banking study program at FEB UIN Jakarta.
The event also opened up opportunities for collaborative research between students and lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, UIN Jakarta, and HSC Chulalongkorn University. (AC)
