Graduate Program Faculty of Economic and Business Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University of Jakarta held an academic writing workshop series February 14 2024. This activity was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business. This workshop was held in order to improve and broaden the insights of postgraduate students in the field of writing. On presentation of material and discussion by Prof. Sri Rahayu Hijrah Hati, SE, M.Si, Ph.D (professor of FEB UI) with moderator Dr. Endah Meiria, SE., M.Si (Lecture of FEB UIN Jakarta). This workshop discusses “Writing Effective Literature Review-Finding Gap”. The material he conveyed was related to research gaps and novelty. He explained the first way to find research ideas is to determine the field to be studied. Finding ideas can also be through seminal papers, current papers, shortcuts, and calls for papers. For research gaps and novelties, the writer can find gaps in the research area, for example data/result inconsistencies in previous studies. It could be that there are other variables that have been forgotten, so it could be novelty. The material presented by Prof. Sri Rahayu received positive responses from postgraduate students. Based on the survey conducted, 72% of participants stated that they were very satisfied, 22% were satisfied, and 6% were quite satisfied.
